Q: Who are attending the summer program?

A: We have wide range of students in terms of age and nationality. People who are attending our summer program are university and college students, Professionals, and adventure travelers. You will find a lot of students from different Countries and backgrounds attending our summer program.

Q: Is there a minimum age to attend to the summer program?

A: Yes, students need to be at least 18 years of age to be able to attend our summer program.

Q: Does the price include airfare? If not, do you help students to book a flight?

A: No airfare is not included in the prices however we can recommend a few agencies that sell tickets to Istanbul.

Q: Do you provide accommodations? If not, do you help students to book a hotel or a hostel?

A: No we don’t provide accommodations however we can recommend a few good places to stay in Istanbul

Q: When should I arrive and depart?

A: Our Summer program starts on Monday July 5th so plan to arrive before that.

Q: I have found a cheap flight to Istanbul but I will miss the first day of the classes. Is that ok?

A: It is not a problem. If you arrive one day later, you will only miss your first lessons and the first sight-seeing tour. You can get the class notes from your teacher and catch up easily with your classmates.

Q: If I need a visa, do you arrange this for me?

A: Visas and passports (if required) are the responsibility of the student. Please obtain your visa at least two weeks earlier than Summer program's start date. To find out if you need a visa for Turkey please contact Turkish consulate in your area.
If you need a "Letter of Invitation" from Turkish Campus to get your visa, we will be happy to send you one.

Q: Is travel and medical insurance required?

A:Turkish Campus highly recommends that all the students have medical travel insurance before leaving their country.

Q: Will you provide more information about the class schedule and the activities before the summer program starts?

A: Yes, all students will receive a detailed information package about the classes and other activities just after their registration.

Q: How much does the summer program costs?

A: Total fee for the summer program is $955.

Q: What do the program fees include?

A: Program fees include the following:
  • Registration fee
  • Payment for the Selected course
  • Placement test after registration
  • Course materials, notes, handouts, and textbooks
  • Sight-seeing tours
  • Information package about the classes and other activities

Q: What is not included in the program fees?

A: Program fees do not include the following:
  • Airfare
  • Your stay in Istanbul
  • Food and Drink
  • Transportation in Istanbul
  • Expenses to obtain Passports, visas and permits
  • Travel and medical insurance
  • Personal expenses

Q: Does Turkish Campus offer any scholarships?

A: Yes, scholarship opportunities for the summer program are available for those who are eligible.

Q: How can I apply for a scholarship?

A: Please contact Turkish Campus to obtain 2010 scholarship application forms.

Q: how will I get to the classroom?

A: Since Turkish Campus locates its classrooms to different locations around Istanbul. Our students will be traveling to the class together with one of our tour guides who will meet them at a conveniently located spot in Istanbul. Since the program fee does not cover transportation, You need to pay for your own fare to get to the classes.

Q: What level of Turkish should I have to attend the summer program?

A: We accept all levels from absolute beginners to upper advanced levels.

Q: How long does the summer program takes and when does it start?

A: Our summer program starts Monday July 5th 2010 and ends on Friday July 30th 2010.

Q: How many students are there in the classes?

A: We have maximum 5 students in a class.

Q: How will the instruction be delivered and what should I expect in class?

A: Unlike the traditional classroom experience, In our summer program you'll receive all instruction while experiencing the endless beauty of the city. We believe that a complete Language-learning experience should include cultural aspects as well. So we integrated Guided sight-seeing tours into our summer program. We use a very effective teaching method in the class. Our success is based on:
  • The use of real-life materials in the class
  • Encouraging as much student participation as possible
  • Creating a warm and friendly environment for the students
  • Being always attentive to your questions and learning needs

Q: How long are the lessons?

A: Every group receives 1 hour and 45 minutes of instruction, an hour lunch break, 60 to 90 minutes of Guided sight-seeing tour and 30 minutes of conversation practice with our assistant teachers.

Q: Does Turkish Campus organize weekend activities?

A: During the weekends Turkish Campus does not offer group courses or any other activities related to summer program.

Accessibility

Our summer program will be held in different locations around Istanbul and a few of them might be inaccessible to wheelchairs. Please do not hesitate to contact our summer program coordinator regarding the accessibility of the classrooms sites.
