Nasreddin Hoca Stories!

Nasreddin Hoca is a well-known humourist from Anatolia whose stories make people from all nations and all ages laugh. Different sources give different dates about his birth and death, but we can estimate that Hoca lived in 13th century in Centeral Anatolia. He served as an imam, teacher, and a judge to his community. More importantly he was a folk philosopher with a positive and mocking approach to any situation. His intelligence, wit sense of humor, modesty and warm-heartedness actually reflects the characteristics of the people of Anatolia.

KAVUK:

DAMDA:

Hoca, kış hazırlığı için dama çıkmış, kırılan kiremitleri aktarmaktadır. Adamın biri gelip kapıyı çalmış ve Hoca’dan aşağıya inmesini istemiş. Hoca, önemli bir iş herhalde diyerek, oflaya puflaya aşağı inmiş. Adam “Hocam, şu fakire bir sadaka” demiş. Hoca kızmış ama belli etmeden: “Hele yukarı gel benimle biraz; Üst tarafını orada söylersin." Varınca ikisi de nefes nefese dama, Hoca dönmüş adama; Demişki: "Allah versin!.”
